A. The CMC level is the highest and most demanding level of achievement of all ACF certification levels.

Q. How rigorous was the CMC exam?

A. The Certified Master Chef exam is a grueling 130-hour, eight day test designed to challenge and evaluate a chef’s mastery of the culinary arts. It is broken down into an 8 comprehensive majors: Healthy Cooking, Buffet Catering, Classic Cuisine, Freestyle, Global Cuisine, Baking & Pastry, Continental & North Europe Cuisines, and Market Basket. 

Q. How many chefs are Certified Master Chefs?

A. Having successfully completed the rigorous examination administered by the American Culinary Federation (ACF), Daryl’s achievement makes him one of 68 total chefs in the World to currently hold this distinction. Specifically, Chef Shular was one of two chefs out of eleven to earn the distinction of Certified Master Chef in 2014.

A. Many years of preparation and personal sacrifice… Chef Shular states “that while the ACF CMC exam is the most challenging culinary skills test in the world, it’s something I’ve pursued my entire career”.
